On the 24th of May 2026, energy and unity filled the streets as we successfully hosted the Peace In Africa half marathon. The landmark event drew an incredible crowd of more than 3,000 participants coming together from all walks of life to run for a shared purpose.

On this momentous day, the Mayibuyi Youth Organisation was deeply honored by the presence of our official guest of honor, Professor Dasarath Chetty—CEO of DC-Communications and the National President of the Child Welfare Organisation. Professor Chetty expressed immense joy at seeing such a diverse representation of communities coming together to actively foster peace and social cohesion through sport.
Lending his support to the athletes, Professor Chetty officially handed over medals and presented the awards during the prize-giving ceremony to all the category winners. Having a leader of his stature join our cause has provided immense inspiration to our ongoing mission of building sustainable peace, unity, and collaboration across the continent and the wider world.
